About me
I’m Garrick Atkin, a psychologist with more than 20 years’ experience working with people and organisations through major life transitions, development and change. I am a registered psychologist and Fellow of the College of Organisational Psychologists.
Prior to becoming a psychologist, I trained at the Royal Military College. That experience took me into peacekeeping operations, foreign languages and experience in embassies and high commissions. It was an extraordinary first career and shaped the way I understand people, leadership and organisations.
Throughout my career, education has been central to health, development, success and performance — for myself and for the people and organisations I work with.
Latest research!
My latest research conducted at the University of Melbourne finds that people who are seen as RESILIENT are more likely to see an EDUCATION response from organisations!
This fascinating research reinforces my approach to working with individual and organisational clients. It is not enough to just ask students and employees to be more resilient. Organisations need to create the conditions that help people learn and grow through challenges and meaningful work and study.
So much to talk about here!
My approach to working with my clients draws on psychology, organisational & systems thinking and evidence-informed practice to create practical and sustainable outcomes.
I look forward to working with you!
